6th Level Research & Development is the internal research division of 6th Level LLC. We investigate experimental computing systems, artificial intelligence, information processing, and emerging software architectures alongside the company's development, consulting, and proprietary products.

Project NOESIS

Active experimental development · NOESIS Incubator v0.7.0

Our first research initiative explores non-neural cognitive architectures: computational mechanisms for cognition, reasoning, learning, and adaptation without an extensively pretrained neural network as the underlying cognitive engine. This is an open research hypothesis, not an established theory of cognition.

The intended Central Adaptive Cortex (CAC) coordinates specialized processing contributions. The NOESIS Incubator, currently implemented through the Research Cradle desktop interface, provides controlled execution and observation of experiments.

Current work includes symbol and sequence comparison, session-local retention, state continuity, and bounded ordering reasoning using supplied premises and an explicit rule. Developer-run checks provide scoped engineering evidence; they do not establish generalized understanding, acquired learning, or autonomy. The broader CAC remains a research objective.

Public documentation is available. Tester downloads remain on hold; the repository does not include the implementation or an installer.

Visit the official repository for architecture details, benchmarks, research methodology, current limitations, and participation information.

Research collaboration

We welcome inquiries from independent researchers, engineers, computer scientists, and academic institutions interested in technical feedback, experimental methods, or potential research partnerships.

Our approach emphasizes systematic experimentation, technical documentation, reproducibility, and transparent reporting of findings and limitations. Organizations interested in supporting independent research are welcome to discuss potential collaboration or sponsored research.
